Children's Ministry

The Children’s ministry at The Church at Cahaba Bend is one of the most vibrant ministries at the church.  Each Sunday Morning, children are signed into their classroom where they learn about the Christian faith, sing, and have fun together.

We are all about faith and families! We love for our children to experience spiritual growth and learn about Jesus with their parents in worship together. 4K-3rd grade children participate in the first part of worship for praise, prayer and communion. Then they dismiss to Children’s Church for 30-40 mins after praise singing. We ask families to promptly pick up their child when worship concludes.

In addition to Sunday mornings, the children of CCB participate in Vacation Bible School (VBS), Wednesday night activities, and other events throughout the year.

All of CCB’s adult supervisors have passed a background check.

SUNDAY MORNING

Nursery

Schedule:  9:00-11:00am

Ages:  Birth through 3yrs old

About:  Children are cared for by loving staff and receive the utmost care.

Location:  Rooms 122 & 124

Preschool and Elementary Groups

Schedule:  9:00-10:00am

Ages:  4K–6th graders separated into groups by age

Curriculum #1:  The "Hands-On" curriculum uses everyday items and gizmos to help kids learn the Bible — and they never forget it!  Since children experience what they're learning, it sticks with them for a lifetime.

Curriculum #2:  The Hillsong "BIG" curriculum presents Christ-centered, Bible-based teaching that is relevant to practical living and empowers children to lead and impact in every sphere of life.  Current lessons include "Unsung Heroes of the Bible" and "Faith, Hope, and Love."

Curriculum #3:  The Group "Buzz" curriculum makes Sunday school fun for kids because they experience the Bible in ways that fit their learning styles — reading, acting, drawing, listening, singing, playing a game, and more.  And, kids stay fully engaged because they make their own choices throughout the lesson.  Current lessons include "Hear Ye, Hear Ye" and "Gross-out."

About:  SLAM! (Serving God, Loving Others, And Making a Joyful Noise).  We focus on caring for God's world with Bible studies, activities, and music.
